Well, it finally happened ...

After 4 years of running, I've finally lost my mind ... I mean, signed up for my first full marathon. March 1, 2014 I'll be tackling The Woodlands Marathon.

When I started running back in 2009, all I wanted to do was actually finish a 5K. Of course after doing that, the competitive side of me took over, and I've been taking on longer distances ever since. Granted it's been a slow process, but I've added 5 mile, 10 mile, 10K, 15K, and half marathon to my list of accomplishments.

I've run The Woodlands Half the past two years, so attempting the local marathon first seemed logical. This year the race is switching from a 2-loop to a 1-loop course, which should be fun. It also means I won't get lapped by anybody during the race, haha!

Hopefully stepping up my training will help me stay motivated to keep this blog updated. It should be a good way to keep myself accountable during the days leading up to the big race.
